Who we are When no one's watching (e-book)
Available in e-book PDF and physical hard cover (62 pages).
Who We Are When No One’s Watching explores the tension between private moments and the act of being seen. Through portraits of five individuals connected to Korean heritage, the series looks at identity, vulnerability, and emotional honesty in both staged and spontaneous moments.
The book is structured around paired photographs across left and right pages, creating subtle visual conversations. Each subject ends with a single image placed alone—these are the only photos that include reflections of me as the photographer. In doing so, the project becomes not just about others, but about my own relationship to Korean identity and visibility.
The work plays with the idea of observation—what changes when we know we’re being watched, and what truths still slip through? It is both a document of others and a self-portrait in fragments.
